March 27th: SAT Vocabulary Competition

Students who would like to participate should see Mrs. Cochren. 
Our first competition will be over chapters 1-3 in the Vocabulary Power Plus book.  We will play jeopardy and enjoy pizza lunch.  Gift card prizes are offered for the top two contestants!

Gold Card Assembly: March 12th

During ESP on Thursday, March 12th, students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher will be honored at our Gold Card Assembly.  A huge thank you for our parent volunteers who make this anticipated event so special.  Students will receive their gold cards to use for discounts at many local businesses.

Medieval Times with Mr. Dixon

Spanish club students recently visited Medieval Times on an after school field trip with Mr. Dixon.  Students reported having a fantastic time.  Thank you to Mr. Dixon for offering such a multitude of fun, educational activities for Thurston’s students.

Workshop in the Woods Field Trip: March 12th

Approximately 40 students in grades 6, 7, and 8 applied to be part of this year’s Renaissance reenactment field trip to Workshop in the Woods.  Students will utilize the information acquired to develop presentations for Thurston’s Renaissance Faire 2009 in May. 
We’re looking forward to a great learning opportunity with lots of fun!
