November 21st: Model United Nations

Dr.Culverhouse, Ms. Silverman, and Mr. Todd will be attending the Model UN Conference at Tustin High School on Saturday with participating students.  Ms. Silverman has been key to initiating this club at TMS.  Please send questions to acochren@lbusd.org!

French Film Festival: Friday, 13th

Thurston families are invited to attend our 4th annual French Film Festival.  This will take place in the Thurston gym from 6:30 to 9:30.  The featured film is “L’Avion” (The Airplane).

A Christmas Carol Book Club and Movie Trip

Students that are interested in reading Charles’ Dicken’s classic, A Christmas Carol, should see Mrs. Cochren to receive a copy of the novella.  We will read the book independently but pick a date to discuss the plot and theme.

My Hero Project Begins!

Approximately 10 GATE students are involved in the fall session of The My Hero Project.  The group meets after school on Tuesdays in Mr. Crisp’s computer lab.  A few spots still remain for this session!  If interested, please email acochren@lbusd.org.

LBHS Drama presents two great shows!

Several classes of TMS students were treated to a complimentary preview of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee on Friday, November 6th during their period 4 class.  Mr. Mark Dressler provided this experience and showcased the remarkable talents of his high school casts! Napoleon Bonaparte at Muzeo

Approximately 80 students attended an October 26th field trip to Muzeo in Anaheim.  Students learned more about Napoleon Bonaparte and saw many of his personal items such as his hat, sword, travel tent, maps, and even a piece of his coffin!  Thank you to Madame Beckley who coordinated the trip and invited not only her French [...]

Seventh grade GATE student, Aviva, has won a free trip to France through the NETC organization for her creative, informative lesson plan submission in the nationwide contest!  Madame Beckley informed students of this competition, and she encouraged her students to compete.

Lego Eiffel Tower Building Contest
